Berkshire Botanical Garden: Annual Winter Lecture, Jan 13, 2018

The Berkshire Botanical Garden’s 21st annual Winter Lecture is titled “The New Shade Garden: Creating a Lush Oasis in the Age of Climate Change”.

The Berkshire Botanical Garden‘s 21st annual Winter Lecture is titled “The New Shade Garden: Creating a Lush Oasis in the Age of Climate Change”. The lecture, sponsored by The Red Lion Inn, is presented by photographer and author, Ken Druse.

Druse has been called “the guru of natural gardening” by The New York Times, and is best known for his twenty garden books published over the last twenty-five years. The American Horticultural Society listed his first large-format work, “The Natural Garden”, among the best books of all time.

Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2 pm – 4pm.
Snow date: January 14, at 2:00 pm.

ADMISSION:
$35 for members
$45 for nonmembers

Advance registration is highly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome, space permitting.

Berkshire Botanical Garden – Harvest Festival 2017

The Berkshire Botanical Garden Harvest Festival is one of the longest running of its kind, and will celebrate the 83rd Harvest Festival this year. The annual festival features local craft vendors, a farmers market, tag sales, music, entertainers, food, family fun, and more.

DATE/TIME:
Saturday October 7th and Sunday October 8th, 2017
10am – 5pm both days.

ADMISSION:
$7
Kids under 12 are free
All proceeds go to benefit the Garden’s education program.

Free Fun Friday at Edith Wharton’s Home, The Mount

The Mount’s 9th annual Free Fun Friday program invites visitors to explore Edith Wharton’s home free of charge. Visitors can wander through the home, stroll the gardens, and explore the trails. There will be no tours on Friday. Instead, guides will be giving hourly talks in the Forecourt. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and special activities will be taking place throughout the day.

Meet Rockwell’s Models in Person at Norman Rockwell Museum

10×10 Real Art Party at Berkshire Museum, February 23

screen-shot-2017-02-13-at-9-26-14-pmArtists from the Berkshires and beyond are contributing 10×10 inch original works of art to be sold for $25 each during the 10×10 Real Art Party at the Berkshire Museum on Thursday, February 23, 2017. A $25 ARTtix guarantees the buyer to a work of art to take home the night of the party. ARTtix may be purchased starting February 11th at the Berkshire Museum admissions desk through the night of the 10×10 Real Art Party (or until tickets sell out). The doors open at 6pm and the drawing begins at 7pm. Tickets will be chosen in a random order and the bearer will be able to choose any work of art that is still on the wall.

The art show and party will benefit Berkshire County through BAA Fellowships for college art students, art field trip awards to Berkshire high school art departments, and free admission for art students to the Berkshire Museum.

The 10×10 Real Art Party is a collaboration of the Berkshire Art Association, Storefront Artist Project and Berkshire Museum. The 10×10 Real Art Party is being presented as part of Pittsfield’s 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival coordinated by the City of Pittsfield’s Department of Cultural Development and sponsored by Berkshire Gas.
