Support Art Omi with Sumptuous Picnics in the Park

Art Omi presents a new, timely opportunity to show your support by indulging with a sumptuous Picnic in the Park. You’re invited to bask in the crisp autumn air with the glorious backdrop of the Sculpture & Architecture Park while enjoying a lavish picnic spread that brings together some of the area’s foremost purveyors of food and beverage.

Order before midnight on Tuesday for pick-up on Thursday through Sunday. When you arrive, you will receive a sturdy Art Omi tote bag at the Benenson Center that contains an array of local delights for you and a companion to enjoy during a leisurely alfresco repast!

Picnics include provisions from: Bimi’s Cheese Shop, Bartlett House, Love Apple Farm, Samascott Orchards, and Talbott & Arding. Picnic in the Park attendees also receive a one-time discount at beverage partner Hudson Wine Merchants.

DATES/TIMES: Thursdays – Sundays, September 25 – October 18, 2020
Picnics may be picked up between 11 – 2 Thursdays through Sundays. 
No Picnics in the Park on October 3.

TICKETS: $200 for two people

Omi International Arts Center – Light Into Night 2020

Art Omi’s annual Light Into Night upstate fundraiser has been fully reimagined and will debut a whole new format which invites attendees to revel in all that Art Omi has to offer!

On Saturday, September 12, you are invited to a picnic like no other in the Sculpture & Architecture Park. Small groups will be stationed at private zones, anchored by artworks in the Park, where they enjoy fine food and drink from local vendors while socializing in the open air. Spots are available for groups of 4-8 people—or just buy a ticket for you, a family member, or a friend, and Omi will provide the perfect spot to socially distance while still being part of the fun! In keeping with the spirit of past Light Into Night events, the afternoon will include surprising performances, and a special treat to send you on your way home.

Omi International Arts Center – Annual Light Into Night Benefit, Sep 15

Art Omi’s annual Light Into Night benefit brings together visual artists, writers, musicians, dancers and architects (and the people who support them) for a rare evening of art, dinner & dance against the striking backdrop of the Art Omi Studio Barns.

The evening also features avant-garde art happenings and innovative performances by Art Omi alumni and friends. Upon arriving, guests will enjoy delicious drinks and a rustic food-hall-style dinner presented by The Flammerie and Oak. A silent auction will be open to bidding throughout the evening. Towards the end of dinner the live auction will feature rare art experiences and vacation destinations, followed by dessert and dancing to top off the night.

This event helps the world-renowned Art Omi continue their important work of producing international arts programming of the highest caliber right here in the Hudson Valley.

Young Art Omi supporters are welcome at Little Stars, a children’s party at Camp Omi with a campfire and art-making. For children ages 4-12, Little Stars will feature a light-themed art project, followed by a kid-friendly film, campfire, singing, and story-telling. Food and drinks will be available.

A Concert to Benefit Hudson Area Library: American Songbook & Art Songs, Jul 15

Hudson Area Library invites you to a benefit concert with American tenor Christopher Reames and pianist Martin Néron. The two will present music for a mid-summer afternoon consisting of American songbook and art songs by Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Ginastera and others, with short solo piano selections as well. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the Hudson Area Library, with its newly expanded hours and ever-increasing programming for everyone in the community.

Christopher Reames is a concert artist, recitalist, and dynamic performer on the operatic stage. His compelling performances captivate audiences with beauty and sensitivity. Reames has appeared as a finalist in national competitions with the Art Song Preservation Society of New York, Joy in Singing, New York Oratorio Society, National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award, and the Franco- American Vocal Academy organizations. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from SUNY at Stony Brook, a Master of Music degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, and a Bachelor of Science degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

Canadian pianist Martin Néron is acclaimed for his performances of art song repertoire and research in linguistics. He has accompanied vocal recitals at Lincoln Center, CAMI Hall, the Kosciuszko Foundation, the United Nations, the Metropolitan Room, the Onassis Center, and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, among other venues. As a recording artist, Néron has released albums with multiple labels, including his latest recording project, Mauthausen (2015), which features the Shanghai Quartet, clarinetist Igor Begelman, and mezzo-soprano Lina Orfanou. Néron has also recorded several concerts for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Néron holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music (D.M.A.), Westminster Choir College (M.M.), and Université de Montréal (B.M.). He is the founder and artistic director of the Vocalis Consort, a group of collaborative musicians and artists devoted to sharing their passion for art song, which has presented over 25 programs in the New York metropolitan area in recent years.

10×10 Real Art Party at Berkshire Museum, February 23

screen-shot-2017-02-13-at-9-26-14-pmArtists from the Berkshires and beyond are contributing 10×10 inch original works of art to be sold for $25 each during the 10×10 Real Art Party at the Berkshire Museum on Thursday, February 23, 2017. A $25 ARTtix guarantees the buyer to a work of art to take home the night of the party. ARTtix may be purchased starting February 11th at the Berkshire Museum admissions desk through the night of the 10×10 Real Art Party (or until tickets sell out). The doors open at 6pm and the drawing begins at 7pm. Tickets will be chosen in a random order and the bearer will be able to choose any work of art that is still on the wall.

The art show and party will benefit Berkshire County through BAA Fellowships for college art students, art field trip awards to Berkshire high school art departments, and free admission for art students to the Berkshire Museum.

The 10×10 Real Art Party is a collaboration of the Berkshire Art Association, Storefront Artist Project and Berkshire Museum. The 10×10 Real Art Party is being presented as part of Pittsfield’s 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival coordinated by the City of Pittsfield’s Department of Cultural Development and sponsored by Berkshire Gas.
