Shop and restaurant owners are gearing up for another festive holiday weekend. Storefronts and display windows are being decorated and plans are underway for special events, activities and holidays sales. 

Events:
Noon-2:00pm Santa and Mrs. Claus
Kids can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Beach and Bartolo Realtors, located at 34 Main Street.

1:00pm Elf at the Crandell
The Crandell Theatre will be showing the holiday classic Elf. Admission is $5.00. Proof of vaccination is required. Concession stand with popcorn will be open!

Chatham’s First Santa Crawl, Dec 14

On Saturday, December 14th, Chatham’s restaurants and bars will take part in the village’s first Santa Crawl.

On Saturday, December 14th, Chatham’s restaurants and bars will take part in the village’s first Santa Crawl. Part of Chatham’s Annual Winterfest, the Santa Crawl invites everyone to dress up in holiday-inspired costumes and stop by the participating establishments.

Each costumed person will be entitled to special drink prices (adults only), and are asked to take selfies from at least 3 of the establishments. Post those selfies to Instagram with the hastag, “#ChathamWinterfest”, and be entered to win prizes with winners chosen at random.

  • Peoples Pub
  • The Chatham Grill
  • Yiannis

Chatham’s Annual Winterfest is Saturday, December 14, 11am – 4pm.

Businesses throughout the Village of Chatham will be welcoming shoppers with special offers and unique holiday gifts. There will be a raffle to win a gift basket of goodies from participating shops in the Village. A raffle ticket will be issued with any purchase of $5 or more in a village shop and the winning number will be posted on the CABA website.

Some activities include a reading of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at the Chatham Bookstore at 11:00am, a wreath-making workshop at Chatham Brewing at 11:00am, the Crandell Theater will have a free screening of the movie “Prancer” at noon , Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand at 10 Main Street from 1:00-3:00pm to visit with little ones and spread some holiday Cheer. At 3:30 there will be a reading of “The Carpenter’s Gift” by local author David Rubel as part of the library’s Authors, Artists and Community Speakers Series. Holiday cookies and hot cocoa will be served. Personalized signed Books will be available for purchase.

Students from Chatham Central School District will be on hand to provide Holiday Music and Caroling, a there will also be a Holiday Costume Crawl for adults that wish to don a costume that captures the spirit of the Holidays as they sample adult beverages at participating venues.

The 5th Annual Oldtone Roots Music Festival features traditional mountain fiddling, bluegrass, hot swing, classic country, brass, cajun and contra music.

The 5th Annual Oldtone Roots Music Festival features traditional mountain fiddling, bluegrass, hot swing, classic country, brass, cajun and contra music.

A family-friendly full camping festival with kids activities, dance tent, hands-on instrument workshops led by world-class musicians, instrument and band contests, Hudson Valley farm-to-table food, libations, and exceptional national & regional acts on the main, dance, & workshop stages.

The Festival has three stages offering traditional music performances, dances, workshops, contests, and children’s activities. The festival seeks to preserve American Roots music and dance with an intimate and interactive festival that includes opportunities to engage with main stage artists in workshop settings. Jamming in the campground late into the night is encouraged. In the evenings attendees and artists dance under a tent that perches over the spectacular rolling hills of upstate New York Farm Country.

Celebrate Stephentown is a grassroots festival celebrating the vibrant rural community of Stephentown, New York. The festival was founded in 2017 and is held every third weekend in August.  This annual tradition serves as a showcase for everything “the only Stephentown on Earth” has to offer, including local pride, independent character and scenic landscapes.

Organized by Celebrate Stephentown, LLC, in close cooperation with Stephentown’s farms, churches, businesses and service organizations, this diverse, family-friendly festival features something for everyone with dozens of events at 20 different locations all over town.
