40th Anniversary Screening of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” w/ Guest, Karen Allen at Norman Rockwell Museum

The Norman Rockwell Museum is hosting a special evening to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Raiders of The Lost Ark. This screening will be a benefit for the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Berkshire International Film Festival. Special guest Karen Allen will speak during a VIP reception prior to the film.

Doors open at 6:30 to set up for lawn seating and picnics.
Bring your own chair or blanket.
Food and drink available for purchase.

Cultural Traditions: A Holiday Celebration Exhibit at Norman Rockwell Museum

The Norman Rockwell Museum presents Cultural Traditions: A Holiday Celebration. This limited run exhibit explores the commonality and distinctiveness of peoples and their traditions around the world through the art and stories in children’s picture books. Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and the Chinese New Year are celebrated in over 40 original works created by six award-winning children’s book illustrators, highlighting our shared hopes and dreams for our communities and families.

Berkshire Botanical Garden – Harvest Festival 2017

The Berkshire Botanical Garden Harvest Festival is one of the longest running of its kind, and will celebrate the 83rd Harvest Festival this year. The annual festival features local craft vendors, a farmers market, tag sales, music, entertainers, food, family fun, and more.

Saturday October 7th and Sunday October 8th, 2017
10am – 5pm both days.

$7
Kids under 12 are free
All proceeds go to benefit the Garden’s education program.

Norman Rockwell Museum Special Exhibit: ‘Hanna-Barbera Architects of Saturday Morning’

flintstones-model-sheet-sm‘Hanna-Barbera: The Architects of Saturday Morning’ is a new museum exhibition to celebrate the iconic animation partnership between William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.  Hanna-Barbera dominated American television animation for three decades in the mid-to-late 20th century. The duo, and their studio created some of the most memorable, and iconic cartoon characters and series, including The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Jonny Quest, Super Friends, and The Smurfs.

The exhibit at the Norman Rockwell Museum provides a glimpse of the extraordinary story of how the two former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation directors reacted to a dying film animation industry and revolutionized a new format for their product.’Hanna-Barbera: The Architects of Saturday Morning’ was developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and has been sponsored, in part, by Keator Group, LLC.

The exhibit runs from November 12, 2016 to May 29, 2017.
