Over the summer, there have been a variety of artists in residences at the Shaker Museum. Some of them will be heading to the New Lebanon Library tomorrow to share with young artists. Join the library and artists for some creative fun. All ages are invited. Materials will be provided.

Love Apple Farm Under the Tent Music Series: Alex P. & the Shoestring Revue, Aug 11

The Love Apple Farm Summer Music Series continues with two more performances this month. Up next is Alex P. & the Shoestring Revue on August 11, and The Wild Weeeds will close out the series on August 25.

The Love Apple Farm Summer Music Series continues with two more performances this month. Up next is Alex P. & the Shoestring Revue on August 11, and The Wild Weeeds will close out the series on August 25. The Farm’s music series, which began in June, gives visitors an opportunity to hear some of the best live local musicians of the Hudson Valley.

Performances take place on the lovely grounds under the tent, so you can enjoy all the sights and sounds that Love Apple has to offer. In addition to the farm, Love Apple also has a store, petting zoo and gallery space.

Join Mud Creek and Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) at the Valatie Free Library for an Owl Experience. Pamela Price, Certified Wildlife Biologist and Education Program Coordinator at Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center will give a brief talk about what makes owls OWLS – and much more.

Find out what actions we can take to create a brighter future for our Columbia County owls and us. Price will also have some owl pellets for students to dissect to learn what the owl ate. All are welcome to enjoy this fun family event!

Art School of Columbia County is holding a workshop called, ‘Sketching the Garden’ this Thursday.

Participants will find something beautiful in the school’s garden and let instructor, Kelly Kynion show how to capture it with simplicity and style. Bring a sketch book, pencils, eraser, hat, and portable stool.
