Roeliff Jansen Library presents a new monthly tea time social event.

Roeliff Jansen Library presents a new monthly tea time social event. Every fourth Thursday, Library Associate Fran Colombo will host a special tea time featuring guided conversation, crafts, special guests, and local tea and coffee options provided by the Library. Who couldn’t use a little tea and conversation in the new year?

Each month’s gathering will have a different theme; listen, discuss, and enjoy a cup of tea (or coffee if that’s your preference!), and sometimes a fun activity. There will also be plenty of time to chat, get to know your neighbors, and wind down. No registration required. For the first meeting, we will be joined by Noel Fair, a tax advisor, to discuss tax season, finances, and other New Year topics.

Roeliff Jansen Library’s Community Picnic has returned!

Roeliff Jansen Library‘s Community Picnic has returned! Join the community at the library for an afternoon of food, music, and fun activities on August 14th. Come meet new friends and neighbors!

In addition to BBQ, beverages, and crafts, each child at the picnic will receive a free book coupon from the Friends of the Roe Jan Library to use at the Friends Bookshop. Plus, there will be a live Birds of Prey presentation at 1:00 pm.

Join Roeliff Jansen Library for live music with local musician Kris Jensen

Join Roeliff Jansen Library for live music with local musician Kris Jensen. Savor the scenic views from Roeliff Jansen Park while enjoying an afternoon of American songbook jazz. Kris will be accompanied by Linda Ransom on vocals, Matt Dwonszyk on bass, and special guests Larry Ham on piano and Jocelyn Pleasant on percussion.

This concert will be at the Hilltop Barn, Roe Jan Park, across the street from the Library. Lawn chairs appreciated.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature and administered in Columbia County by the Greene County Council on the Arts dba Create Council for the Arts .

Roeliff Jansen Library Gala Returns, Jun 25

The Roeliff Jansen Library Annual Gala returns to an in-person event on June 25th!

The Roeliff Jansen Library Annual Gala returns to an in-person event on June 25th! After COVID forced the library to cancel the annual gala two years in a row. This year, they are thrilled to announce that they will be having a “live” gala again.

The gala is the library’s largest fundraising event. This year’s gala will be at an exciting new venue: the Lodge at Catamount Mountain Resort and will feature tasty new food options, in addition to the usual wine selections plus beer from the Roe Jan Brewing Company. The Bash Bish Bluegrass Band will provide toe-tapping entertainment. There will also be both silent and live auctions.

The class will also be “painting with scissors” to create your own colorful masterpieces.
