Virtual Entertainment Options from Ancram Opera House and Two Of Us Productions, Jul 11

You have two different Virtual Entertainment options to select from this Saturday. Organized by the Ancram Opera House, Crystal Radio Sessions Upstate, will be an evening of live readings of short stories. Also happening on Saturday, The Two Of Us Productions presents a double feature of Classic Radio Dramas: “Cabin B-13” and “That Thing in the Window”.

The Two Of Us Productions

In CabinN B-13 a happy bride heads to Europe for her honeymoon, but her husband disappears after they’ve settled into their plush ocean Screen Shot 2020-07-09 at 6.30.19 PMliner cabin. The captain, the stewardess, and the doctor help her search the ship but no one on the ship has ever seen her husband!

In That Thing In The Window a struggling actor who can’t seem to find the right roles is home without work, and claims to see a body in the apartment window across the street. The strange thing is that the no one else can see the corpse!

Two Of Us Productions’ Double Feature Classic Radio Drama Thrillers, Jun 20

The Two Of Us Productions presents two Classic Radio Drama Thrillers – “The Hitchhiker” and “Mr. Markham, Antique Dealer” – on Saturday, June 20th.

In MR. MARKHAM, ANTIQUE DEALER a blackmailer, a murderer, and a room full of clocks, one of which talks! Who is actually murdered, and who is the murder?

In THE HITCHHIKER a man drives cross-country from Brooklyn to California. On the way, he sees a man on the Brooklyn Bridge, waiting for a lift. Adams sees the man again an hour later, hitchhiking at the Pulaski Skyway. As he progresses towards his destination Adams repeatedly sees the same hitch-hiker, despite the fact that, logically, there is no possible way the mysterious man could always somehow get ahead of him!

The Two Of Us Productions presents a Double Feature of two Classic Radio Plays on Saturday, May 23, from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. 

Two Classic Radio Dramas as the next installment of their virtual Live-Staged Reading Series on Zoom.

In TROUBLE AT THE CIRCUS super-detective Dick Tracy investigates the sudden death of a talented elephant trainer who dances with her elephants until the night that she is trampled to death for no apparent reason.

In JUSTICE WEARS A BLINDFOLD dashing & handsome Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel Newspaper, learns that a well-respected local judge is apparently going out of his way to not send a local hoodlum to jail. Donning his alter ego as the stern justice fighter The Green Hornet, Britt and his resourceful assistant Kato intervene to make sure that the trial is fair and the public is protected.

The Two Of Us Productions presents a Virtual Staged Reading of “Stranger in the Attic”. Set in the country home of freelance writer Brian Hollander and his wife Dana, their quiet life is unexpectedly upset by the arrival of a stranger named Kendrick, who is offering an exclusive story to Brian about a murder that has not happened yet!

In this time of social distancing – live theater still has the power to transport us to new lives, and situations.  Join us as we adapt to this unprecedented time – and let’s all get transported together!

The Theater Barn Presents: ‘Lucky Stiff’

The Theater Barn, in New Lebanon, presents “Lucky Stiff”, this Thursday through September 1.

Based on the novel, The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth, Lucky Stiff is an offbeat, hilarious murder mystery farce, complete with mistaken identities, six million bucks in diamonds and a corpse in a wheelchair. Harry Witherspoon stands to inherit the fortune before the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn or to his uncle’s gun-toting ex-mistress.
