Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center Presents ‘Owls of Columbia County’ a Talk w/ Certified Wildlife Biologist, Aug 9

Join Mud Creek and Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) at the Valatie Free Library for an Owl Experience. Pamela Price, Certified Wildlife Biologist and Education Program Coordinator at Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center will give a brief talk about what makes owls OWLS – and much more.

Find out what actions we can take to create a brighter future for our Columbia County owls and us. Price will also have some owl pellets for students to dissect to learn what the owl ate. All are welcome to enjoy this fun family event!

Reptile Adventure at Mud Creek, Jun 18

Reptile Adventure will be visiting and teaching program participants all about the conservation and protection needs of our planet’s reptiles. Learn about all sorts of snakes and lizards, and how you can assist in preserving habitat for these important species. Participants will have a hands-on meet and greet with some of the animals at the end of the program! Please join us for this family night of fun!

Wild World of Animals with Two by Two Zoo, May 31

Screen Shot 2019-05-28 at 7.08.16 PMJoin Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) for a visit from Two by Two Zoo featuring live wildlife and audience participation. A hopping kangaroo, leaping lemur, and a Patagonian cavy will thrill and delight all ages! This conservation-based program will give participants an opportunity to see these and other fascinating and fun animals. The presenters will provide educational information and interesting facts about the animals as well as answer questions. There will be a meet and greet with a few animals too! All are welcome to enjoy this interactive fun family event!

Owls of Columbia County w/ Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center at Claverack Library, Mar 27

On March 27th Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org)  invites you to the Claverack Library for an Owl Experience. Learn about all the unique features that make owls, OWLS – their habitats, behavior, and much more. Find out what actions we can take to help protect owl species and their habitats to create a brighter future for our Columbia County owls. There will also be some owl pellets for 4th to 7th grade students to dissect. By looking at the contents of the owl pellet you can learn what the owl ate! All are welcome to enjoy this fun event!

Winter Wildlife Animal Tracking Hike at Mud Creek, Mar 2

Join the Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) for an animal tracking hike on Saturday (March 2, 2019). Hikers will look for signs of wildlife and learn about the natural history of local animals. The program will start at Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center where Pamela Price, Certified Wildlife Biologist and Education Program Coordinator will give a brief talk about identifying animal tracks. Afterward, head out to the trail to enjoy the brisk winter air and use your new knowledge to spot tracks and traces left by rabbits, foxes, deer, and perhaps even a bobcat. The hike is a snow or no snow event!
