Encaustic Art: Hive to Canvas with Maria Kolodziej-Zincio

The North Chatham Public Library presents Encaustic Art: Hive to Canvas – Maria Kolodziej-Zincio.

The North Chatham Public Library presents Encaustic Art: Hive to Canvas – Maria Kolodziej-Zincio. Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is an ancient art-form that involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials can be used.

Join Encaustic Artist, Maria Kolodziej-Zincio for her workshop on the process of encaustic art, and what role bees play in her fascinating new expression of an ancient Egyptian art form.

This event is made possible with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the NYS Council on the Arts, administered in Columbia County by the Greene County Council on the Arts through the Community Arts Grants Fund.
