Clermont State Historic Site Children’s Walk, Jan 17

Clermont State Historic Site invites families to the Children’s Walk, on Sunday, January 17th. Follow in the footsteps of the Livingston sisters, Janet and Honoria, as you explore some of the girls’ favorite
places to play and explore. This will be a gentle walk for families, with treats.

PLEASE NOTE : Clermont follows all NYS Department of Health guidelines for safety during the COVID 19
pandemic. Masks and social distancing will be required of all tour participants until these guidelines are lifted
by New York State Parks.

Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Weather dependent.

Clermont State Historic Site presents Wintertime Storytime on January 9, via FaceBook Live (online).

Whether there’s snow on the ground or not, it’s always a good time for some winter stories. Join one of Clermont’s costumed interpreters as they read a seasonal story on Facebook Live. In these cold winter months, nothing is better than curling up with a good story. And just because we can’t sit outside doesn’t mean Storytime at Clermont is over. Join Clermont on Facebook Live to hear some winter favorites while you stay snuggled up in your jammies at home.

Olana Winter Prep Pollinator Walk & Workshop, Nov 7

Explore Olana’s artist-designed landscape through the perspective of pollinators! Learn about how honeybees and humans can prepare for the winter through a guided outdoor walk and workshop. During this program, beekeepers Chris and Lisa Layman will lead a guided outdoor walk and a short demo about making beeswax salves. Chris and Lisa run Fox Farm Apiary, a honeybee rescue and sanctuary in the Hudson Valley. In partnership with Olana, Fox Farm maintains an apiary onsite at Olana’s farm complex.

This program covers approximately 1/4 mile and will be conducted outside.

Clermont State Historic Site presents Historical Halloween Story Hour on October 10.

Join some of Clermont’s costumed interpreters as they read a classic Halloween tale that has its roots right here in the Hudson Valley: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! Children must be accompanied by an adult, and an adult must be accompanied by a child.

Outdoor Screening of ‘Kiss the Ground’ at TSL, Oct 3

Join Time & Space Limited (TSL), in Hudson, for the outdoor screening of ‘Kiss the Ground’ on Saturday, October 3rd.

120142247_3460811987319024_1417085412947669959_oThe event begins at 5pm with concessions that include locally-sourced scones, dried fruit from Montgomery Place Orchard, and, of course, popcorn. At 5:15 American Sustainable Business Council’s Carolyn Pincus will provide a short introduction to regenerative agriculture and shortly after that, Kiss the Ground will commence at 6pm. All proceeds of the event will go back to supporting Time & Space Limited who have been serving residents in the Hudson Valley through their culturally-diverse and socially-active environment.
