Muster Celebration at Museum of Firefighting in Hudson

This Saturday, the FASNY Museum of Firefighting is reviving the muster on the grounds of the Firemen’s Home in Hudson. This day of old-fashioned fun gets started with the first muster, which will coincide with the 125th Anniversary Celebration at the Firemen’s Home.

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting will also be part of the Hudson FD Inspection Day parade, and there’s an opportunity for muster participants and special selected FD’s to be part of the parade.

Additional events and activities for the day include Demonstrations of Pumping, Hose Racing and Gold Leafing, Games, Vendors, Food, and more.

Parade step off for antiques is 9:30am.
Muster grounds open at 10am and close at 4pm.

‘The Fiery Sword of Justice’ Performance Rescheduled for June 3

“The Fiery Sword of Justice”, a comedy about how one business woman’s compulsive truth-telling torpedoed her career, will be staged at the Ancram Opera House as a benefit for the Roeliff Jansen Commuity Library.

Here’s some info from the library about the performance:

The play is written and performed by Lauren Lettelier. After a decades-long career in New York as an award-winning communications executive, Lauren is now a Hillsdale-based writer, actor, and voice artist as well as a volunteer at the library both at the circulation desk and on committees.
“The Fiery Sword of Justice” received rave reviews at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival, where critics called it “Bold, funny, wise and brave … cannot be missed!” (StageBuddy.com); “An enlightening piece of work … wicked, sharp and funny!” (T2Conline.com) and “The most original piece … at the Fringe” (NYTheaterGuide.com).

Best Of Columbia County, Round 2 Voting is Open

Round Two of voting for the 4th Annual Best Of Columbia County competition is now open. Presented by the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, the Register-Star, and the Chatham Courier present the Best of Columbia County competition, which invites the public to vote for their favorite county businesses, shops, restaurants, locations, services, and more.

This second, and final round of voting, will determine the winners of the competition. Voting is open until May 19, and the winners will be announced in June.

My Real Estate agency, Beach & Bartolo, made it through to Round Two, and is one of three agencies nominated for Best Realtor. We won last year, and would love to win again so please consider voting for us.

The American Constitution Discussion Group, Monday in New Lebanon

This is a bi-weekly group, that focuses on the study of the Constitution, and it’s impact on our lives. Interested participants should bring their questions and be ready to share their opinions.
