  1. When I was a kid back in the 1950’s I spent many Saturday afternoons at the Crandell watching 15 “big” cartoons, comedies, westerns and horror movies. I remember one time that a few of us kids wanted to see some cheesy horror movie. I think it was ATTACK OF THE KILLER SHREWS with dogs dressed up as the shrews. They weren’t going to open because there were not enough patrons so all of us kids went out and drummed up enough business off Main Street so that they would open. Once I got older and in high school in the early 1960’s there a few Saturday date nights spent there as well. Additionally my dad and I also got our hair cut in the barber shop that was on left in the old picture. Congratulations to the Crandell on being recognized for the history it has made along with all my fond memories of the theatre, – Al Grab, Pilot Point, TX
