Hudson Shared Streets – New Hours

Hudson Shared Streets will be returning to a weekend-only schedule.

The Hudson Shared Streets Program goal is to continue to help Hudson businesses reopen safely and create space for safe physical distancing to prioritize the health of our community amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In response to the data and feedback collected since the program began and in order to best support our business community and residents, Hudson Shared Streets will be returning to a weekend-only schedule. Starting Monday, August 24, Hudson Shared Streets will take effect on Warren Street from Front Street to 7th Street on:

Fridays, 4pm to 10pm
Saturdays & Sundays, 11am to 10pm

During these hours:

  • Please avoid driving on Warren Street, when possible.
  • Traffic is slowed to 5MPH.
  • Cars, bikes, and pedestrians share the roadway. Cars must YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS.
  • Pedestrians are encouraged to maintain 6 feet between themselves and others on busy sidewalks by walking on the road. Please do so cautiously, with respect for others.
  • Vehicles and pedestrians must be responsible and yield to traffic signals at intersections.
  • Public transportation runs on a regular schedule at 5MPH.

2020 General Election Early Voting Information

The Columbia County Board of Elections site has some great info on how to vote early in the upcoming General Election.

The Columbia County Board of Elections site has some great info on how to vote early in the upcoming General Election. In New York State, all registered voters can vote in-person before Election Day at one or more voting sites in their county.

Early Voting in New York State will begin prior to the November 3rd General Election and will be from Saturday, October 24th through Sunday November 1st.

Columbia County Early Voting Hours:

Sat Oct 24: 9a-2p
Sun Oct 25: 9a-2p
Mon Oct 26: noon-8p
Tues Oct 27: 9a-5p
Wed Oct 28: Noon-8p
Thurs Oct 29: 9a-5p
Fri Oct 30: 9a-5p
Sat Oct 31: 9a-2p
Sun Nov 1: 9a-2p

Columbia County registered voters can vote at the early voting site located at 401 State Street, Hudson, NY 12534, no matter where in the county they reside. Voting during early voting is the same as voting on Election Day. When you get to the early voting site, you will check in to vote, receive your ballot, and vote as any other election.

COVID-19 Update from Columbia County Health Department, Aug 17

The latest update from the Columbia County Department of Health.

Following is the latest update from the Columbia County Department of Health.

The department has changed the look of their reporting to the following, which is clearer to read.

As of 3:30 pm on August 10, 2020:

– Columbia County has had 37 residents that have passed away from COVID-19.

-Columbia County has 514 confirmed positive cases.

-There are 9 active cases of COVID-19 in Columbia County. We are monitoring 97 county residents on mandatory quarantine, and there are 22 on precautionary quarantine.

– 468 of the 514 cases have recovered from COVID-19

– 3 of the positive cases are hospitalized, none of those hospitalized are in the ICU

-We have received 20,138 PCR reports. Please note this number may represent duplicate reports, out of county reports, and multiple nursing home testings.

Although our numbers are low, it is IMPORTANT to remember to stay home if you feel symptoms. Recent positives were feeling ill and continued to go to work and/or socialized and potentially exposed many more people, putting them on Mandatory Quarantine for 14 days. Please continue to practice social distancing and wear your mask!
