This weekend is the final weekend of the Ghent Playhouse’s Annual Panto, ‘The Turn of the Scrooge’.

Spend time with all the familiar characters – and maybe a few new ones – as The Loons return with their own zany spin on the classic holiday tale, “A Christmas Carol,” with another terrific original British-American Panto. Great fun for the whole family!

The American Constitution Discussion Group, Tonight in New Lebanon

Tonight at the New Lebanon Library, the library is hosting it’s bi-weekly discussion group that studies the American Constitution. Participants should bring their questions and be ready to share their opinions.

The group will meet tonight, December 5, at the library, from 7 to 9pm. It 
is free and open to the public.

Hudson Winter Walk is This Saturday, December 3!

Every year on the first Saturday in December, Hudson’s Warren street becomes a winter wonderland and celebration of the holidays. The street is closed to automobile traffic and becomes a pedestrian promenade. Most of the stores and galleries use Winter Walk to premier their holiday-inspired decorated store front windows, and stay open later than usual.

The all-ages festivities including a parade down Warren that culminates in a fireworks show. This year, which is the 20th Anniversary of Winter Walk, will also include live reindeers, and performers throughout town, including carolers, fire-throwing jugglers, and one saxophone-playing Santa Claus.

December 3, 2016, 5–8 pm (Rain, Snow, or Shine)

5pm— Santa Parade kicks off the festivities from the Hudson Opera House
5pm— Phil Kline’s UNSILENT NIGHT steps off from the foot of Warren Street at Front Street
5:45pm— UNSILENT NIGHT culminates at the 7th Street Park
8pm— Fireworks at Promenade Hill

Polar Express Party at Roeliff Jansen Library on December 2

polar-express-2016-poster-finalThe Roeliff Jansen Community Library is hosting a Polar Express Party this Friday. The holiday themed event will feature a special, new telling of the Polar Express story, hot cocoa, and a visit with Santa, in a winter wonderland of surprises.

DETAILS:
December 2, 2016. 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Attendees are invited to wear pajamas to the event.

The library will close at 3:00 Friday to prepare for the party.

WHERE:
The Roeliff Jansen Community Library is located at 9091 Rt. 22, approximately 3/4 mile south of the light at the Hillsdale intersection of Routes 22 and 23.
The Party will take place in the Community and Children’s Room of the library.

Block Party: Legos in the Library on December 1

The New Lebanon Library is hosting it’s monthly LEGO Building Club this Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 4:30 PM.

The hour long club provides the LEGOs, and kids will get to check out each other’s creations when done. LEGO builds will then be on display at the library.
