Ghent Playhouse Presents Last Train to Nibroc

The Ghent Playhouse presents, ‘Last Train to Nibroc’, running weekends from May 20 through June 5, 2022.

In the winter of 1940, two young people are forced to sit next to one another on a crowded train headed east, only to discover a mutual attraction that will change their lives forever.  A poignant and captivating gem of a play, reminiscent of Thornton Wilder.

The Ghent Playhouse’s final weekend of performances of “Fun House”, is this weekend – April 8th to 10th.

Winner of the 2015 Tony Award for Best Musical and adapted from the graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, this groundbreaking musical reveals  memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family, through various stages of her life, as she tries to unlock the mysteries of her father’s past, while discovering her own sexuality.  A refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes.

Ghent Playhouse Annual Panto – “Rapunzel: The Tale of a Quaran-Teen”

The Ghent Playhouse’s Annual Panto returns with “Rapunzel: The Tale of a Quaran-Teen”.

The outrageous “Loons” are finally back with their annual Panto.  Now in their 21st Season, the Panto Loons’ family-friendly productions have all the elements of a traditional British pantomime:  audience participation (booing, hissing, cheering), local and national politics, great characters, wonderful songs and lots of cross-dressing.  Holiday fun for the whole family.  This year, see their “twist” on the famous Brothers Grimm fairytale, Rapunzel, the story of the girl all “tressed” up with nowhere to go… ‘cause she’s stuck in a tower with no doors, silly!!  Join us to see how it all turns out.

Ghent Playhouse Presents ‘The Chalk Garden’

unnamed-2

The Ghent Playhouse presents ‘The Chalk Garden’, with performances from January 31 through February 16.

This psychological chamber piece was revived to critical acclaim on the West End in 2008. In 1955 Sussex, England, a dyed-in-the-wool British dowager and her precocious and equally eccentric granddaughter are about to meet their match in Miss Madrigal, the enigmatic household companion with secrets, who has just been hired. A tantalizing, fascinating and stimulating evening of theatre
