The Theater Barn, in New Lebanon, is staging a benefit production on August 8th, of their currently running show, “She Loves Me”.

The Theater Barn, in New Lebanon, is staging a benefit production on August 8th, of their currently running show, “She Loves Me”. The show is a fun musical set in a 1930’s European perfumery, and is considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written. It’s a romantic comedy with endearing innocence and old world elegance. All ticket sales from the August 8th performance will benefit the New Lebanon Library.

Library Benefit – Wednesday, August 8, 2018: 7pm
She Loves Me full run – Thursday, August 9, 2018 through Sunday, August 19, 2018. Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.

TICKET PRICES:
Library Benefit – $25

Regular Performances – $29.00 for the evening and Saturday performances
$27.00 for the Sunday matinee

Claverack Library Presents ‘Marilyn Monroe in Claverack’, Jul 29

In 1954 Marilyn Monroe visited a friend in Claverack to escape New York City and the break-up of her marriage to Joe DiMaggio. She stayed with a friend at a home that has come to be known as “The Marilyn Monroe House”.

In 1954 Marilyn Monroe visited a friend in Claverack to escape New York City and the break-up of her marriage to Joe DiMaggio. She stayed with a friend at a home that has come to be known as “The Marilyn Monroe House”.

This Sunday, Claverack resident Maureen McNeil will read from her new book, Dear Red, the Lost Diary of Marilyn Monroe (a work of fiction) in the garden of The Marilyn Monroe House. The reading will be followed by refreshments and a tour of the first floor of the house led by present owner Julius James.

This free program, sponsored by the Claverack Free Library, illuminates the final year of the life of America’s greatest sex symbol and offers a glimpse of Claverack history. Maureen McNeil is an artist, educator, and writer who works within nonprofit organizations using the arts for social change.

The Wassaic Project is holding a week-long immersive camp for students entering grades 6-9. Participants build artistic, creative problem-solving, and design-thinking skills, and collaborate with Wassaic Artists in Residence on a performance at our Summer Festival.

The Old Austerlitz Historical Society‘s annual Blueberry Festival is this Sunday. This ever-popular event features early 19th Century craft demonstrations and wares, antiques, live music and entertainment, magic act, activities for children, animals, birds of prey, sheep-shearing, plus many unique and highly talented craft vendors, artisans and a special fiber art area. There will be blueberries galore and a blueberry pancake breakfast, in addition to a wide selection of tasty food items and baked goods.
