Join the Columbia Land Conservancy staff and Becca Rodomsky-Bish, Project Leader at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and learn about the common birds around Columbia County in winter and how you can help scientists by participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) coming up in February. Becca will discuss the importance of the data collected during the GBBC and how scientists are using it to better understand bird populations. There will be an overview of how to use eBird to collect the data that weekend and all year long.
Becca Rodomsky-Bish is Project Leader for Nest Quest Go! and Great Backyard Bird Count at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Her background is in environmental education and she feels her work with the GBBC is a great way to engage backyard bird watchers and help guide people in creating bird-friendly home and yards. She has an M.S. in Environmental studies from Antioch University.
