Lebanon Valley Speedway 2018 Grand Season Opening, Apr 21

The 2018 season kicks off this Saturday with the 66th Grand Season Opening, featuring L&M Motors & Sayer’s Auto Wrecking’s $3000 Modified Event.

When I bought and moved into my house, the month was December. Several months later the Lebanon Valley Speedway opened for the summer season, and I discovered that the sounds from the speedway can be heard at my house. Luckily, I’m far enough that it’s usually just a low buzzing noise in the distance. Over the years Ive actually grown to like the sound. For one thing, it reminds me that it’s summer. The other reason I like it is that I live on a quiet road and am surrounded by woods – it’s secluded, so I like hearing the sounds and knowing that there is something happening down in the valley.

Columbia County Under Water

Last week’s storms were the craziest thing I have ever seen. Here are a few pictures I took during the storm and the day after.

This is the usually quiet slowly trickling stream in our woods. There used to be a mess of fallen trees across the stream that we used as a bridge. The water took that mess away.

The water filled up out basement window well and began pouring in until we got outside with buckets and shovels. In this picture, a family of frogs outside in the basement well are trying to stay above the water level
