Cowboy Junkies at Club Helsinki Hudson, September 28

Helsinki Hudson presents An Evening With Cowboy Junkies this Thursday.

With their quiet, Velvet Underground-influenced drone-rock combined with a rootsy, country-folk approach, the Cowboy Junkies were one of the original bands to give birth to the 1990s genre that became known as “No Depression,” “Americana” or “alt-country.” For 30 years, the Cowboy Junkies have remained true to their unique artistic vision and to the introspective, quiet intensity that is their musical signature, creating a critically acclaimed body of original work that has endeared them to an audience unwavering in its loyalty.
