Warm up this winter with some good old fashioned musical theater at the Ghent Playhouse. The theater’s current production is Once Upon A Mattress, a musical comedy with music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer.
On the first Thursday of each month, Hawthorne Valley presents it’s Farmscape Ecology Program. A research and outreach program that fosters compassion for the ecological and cultural landscape of Columbia County, NY. This month features an Open House at the Creekhouse in Ghent. The open house evening includes a tour of the Creekhouse and native plant garden, informational session about Hawthorne’s program activities, the opportunity to browse the reading room, and enjoy a simple meal with others interested in the land and its human and non-human inhabitants. Guests are encouraged to bring a natural history question or observation to share. Anyone who feels inspired, is invited to bring a dish to share, however, it is not required.
