Best Of Columbia County, Round 2 Voting is Open

Round Two of voting for the 4th Annual Best Of Columbia County competition is now open. Presented by the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, the Register-Star, and the Chatham Courier present the Best of Columbia County competition, which invites the public to vote for their favorite county businesses, shops, restaurants, locations, services, and more.

This second, and final round of voting, will determine the winners of the competition. Voting is open until May 19, and the winners will be announced in June.

My Real Estate agency, Beach & Bartolo, made it through to Round Two, and is one of three agencies nominated for Best Realtor. We won last year, and would love to win again so please consider voting for us.

M&M’s Tap & Tavern Summer Block Party Announced

M&M’s Tap & Tavern announced on their FaceBook Page, that the M&M’s Summer Block Bash is happening this Summer. The event is designed as a fun happening for visitors, that will also support local businesses.

The bar/restaurant will take over the parking lot at it’s New Lebanon location, and fill it with beer trucks, festival style food booths, an outside bar, and more. There will be a Corn Hole Tournament, a Wing Eating Contest and a main stage with music acts throughout the day. Chatham Brewery is a sponsor of the party, and will provide the beer.

The gates will open at noon and the last band will play until 11pm. Following the last band, M&M’s will host an after party with DJ Fish. M&M’s is currently negotiating with a few transportation companies to provide shuttle and transportation options for anyone who can’t, shouldn’t, or doesn’t want to drive home.

As of the announcement, the following four acts were confirmed. More acts and events will be announced as the date gets closer.

Headline Band – 5 Gun Draw
A country group, specializing in Rock Country with a multitude of male and female vocalists that can cover all artists.

Feature Band – Side Show Willie
A three-piece band, and local mainstay, playing Classic Rock and Dance music.

Opening Band – Flat Broke
A talented band that plays Beatles, Ozzy, Rage Against the Machine and much more.

Tickets go on sale Saturday April 29th at 10am
Online pre event tickets are $10
Tickets at the gate are $15
Tickets at the gate from 7pm – midnight are $20

Vote Now for Best Of Columbia County 2017!

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, the Register-Star, and the Chatham Courier present the 4th Annual Best of Columbia County competition. The competition invites members of the public to vote for their favorite county businesses, shops, restaurants, locations, services, and more.

The first round of voting will take place from April 8 to May 8 and will select about three finalists in each category. The second round of voting, which will go from May 8 to May 18, will determined a winner from each category,

In each of the categories, you can select one of the listed options, or write in your own. Here’s my shameless plug – Beach & Bartolo Realtors won Best Realtor last year, and we would love to win again. Unlike most categories there no Realtors listed, so please write us in.

Capital Region Spring Home Show, April 7 – 9

The Home Show is a great resource for anyone who is currently renovating a home, planning their next project, or just daydreaming of ways to improve a space.

Nearly 175 exhibitors will be at the show with home improvement and remodeling exhibits, product demonstrations, and sample interior and exterior vignettes. The show will feature exhibitors from multiple interior and exterior categories including, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Windows, Landscaping, Sheds & Gazebos, Appliances, Solar, Hot Tubs, Energy Conservation, and much more.

How to Receive Updates From Columbia County 911

Columbia County 911 Communications Department is a great resource for finding out about emergencies in the county. The Columbia County 911 Department is the lifeline between residents and emergency responders. The department is involved with far more than dispatching responders.

Here is some info from the department’s site:

“There are a whole host of functions we are responsible for, that many people don’t realize.  The Columbia County 911 Department is the official National Weather Service warning point for the County.  Dispatchers are responsible for monitoring severe weather outbreaks and warning emergency response personnel of threatening weather situations.  Our staff disseminates severe weather bulletins via the radio, text notification and our social media pages.  During Hurricane Irene, our department spent countless hours at an elevated level of readiness, responding to hundreds of calls for service and serious, potentially life threatening, situations”.
