Jiminy Peak Officially Open for Season Today!

czuyzxwxcaa5zaz Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is the largest ski and snowboard resort in southern New England, and the only mountain resort in North America to generate its own energy using wind power. The resort is open year round, and has activities for every season. The most popular season is winter, for the mountain’s skiing!

Daily, day and night, operations begin today, December 10, 2016, and Jiminy will have 9 trails and 3 lifts open from 8:30 am – 10 pm.

Columbia County in Pictures: November Blizzard 2016

The surprise blizzard that came through Columbia County on Sunday knocked out power for thousands of residents (myself included) After three days without electricity, the lights finally came back on yesterday evening. Now that I have power and internet back, I can appreciate the beauty of the following pictures.

The freezing rain that coated us two nights ago switched over to snow when the sun came up giving everything a Winter Wonderland look. Don’t be fooled, that treacherous slick of ice is hiding just below the snow waiting to grab your feet and pull you down. Still, it’s pretty to look at.
