Olana presents the holiday-inspired workshop, “Seasonal Greens: 19th Century Wreath Making.” Mary Hughes, Olana’s Master Gardener, will teach the art of creating seasonal evergreen wreaths in this hands-on workshop.

Please bring a pair of pruning shears. All other supplies and refreshments will be provided.

Pack your chairs, blankets, bring your own coolers and we have your food needs covered. Since there are three different food trucks this season, you can come multiple times and always experience a new menu; and you’ll always get a seat with a view! Grab your family and friends and plan a classic picnic adventure at OLANA this fall.

Take a tour of Olana’s geological landscape with Hartwick College Geology Professor, Robert Titus.


Take a tour of Olana’s geological landscape with Hartwick College Geology Professor, Robert Titus. Participants will learn about the geological history of Olana and the forces that shaped the 19th-century Hudson River School artist Frederic Church’s artist-designed landscape. Experience Olana’s landscape with new eyes—the eyes of geologist who sees where science meets storytelling and time travel is possible. The hike will be about 1.5 miles with rests, followed by apples and ice water. Wear smart shoes and sunscreen.
