Art Omi inivites visitors to join them this Saturday for an opening celebration for the exhibition All of Us: Portraits of the Ghent Bicentennial, a series of photographs of Ghent residents captured throughout 2018 by photographer Richard Beaven.

All of Us is a vast photographic survey of the present-day Ghent citizenry, and includes portraits of 275 residents, or nearly 5% of the total population of 5,400. All of Us is the final in a yearlong series of events commemorating the 200th anniversary of Ghent’s founding in 1818.

All of Us will be on view from December 5 – 10, 2018.

HandMade in America: Artisans Along Main Street in Valatie, Oct 6

Enjoy autumn’s dazzling mid-October effect on the village. Inhale the moment, meet the artisans, and listen to live music.

Saturday, October 6, is the 8th Annual Artisan Fair in and along Main Street in Valatie.

Grab the opportunity to stock up for your holiday pantry and gifting—and don’t forget yourself!

Stay in the village for lunch at one of our diners or cafés along Main Street and Route 9.
Snap some pictures of our fabulous waterfalls, and shop at the eclectic mix of stores in our charming and historic village.

Kid Kurt Blues Band will perform live music on Main Street, and dozens of local and regional artisans will display and sell their works at the festival, featuring hot and cold foods and artisanal beverages; ceramics, botanical and handmade soaps, fabric and textile objects, silver and hand-crafted jewelry, exquisite handmade objéts, and other distinctive goods.

Maps will be available in most Main Street businesses and with the artisans.  Restroom facilities will be available. Free and open to the public.

All month long, the shop will feature a chance to meet some of the artisans while enjoying a special cocktail created by Angus Van Beusichem from The People’s Pub (also on Main st.).

The next event is this Friday (September 14) with Basketmaker, Joyce Flower, and Puppet Builder, Susannah White.

Holiday Market at Greylock WORKS, Nov 18

A new holiday market at Greylock WORKS celebrates the uniqueness of the Northern Berkshires. Set in an expansive, light-filled mill, the festival marketplace offers music performances, food crafters, local farmers, fermenters and distillers, and the region’s best artisans and textile curators. There also will be programs and workshops that invite visitors into the true stories of the artisans.
