Hawthorne Valley’s
 Annual Fall Festival celebration takes place on Sunday, October 13.

Every autumn, Hawthorne Valley offers the Fall Festival as a free public event to thank  donors, customers, volunteers, community members, and local vendors for their support and partnership. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to get to know Hawthorne Valley’s diverse initiatives and experience the beauty of autumn in Columbia County. Over the years, the Festival has grown into a seasonal favorite with over 3,000 people attending from the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond.

The Fall Festival features many local artisans and vendors, live music, local food, children’s crafts and activities, hay rides, cider pressing, horse rides, pumpkin decorating, a school open house and more!

2018 Autumn in Austerlitz Festival, Oct 7

pumpkinsThe Old Austerlitz Historical Society‘s 22nd Annual Autumn in Austerlitz Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 7.

The event features a wide array of live demonstrations from sheep shearing to butter making, antiques, live music, entertainment for children, unique vendors, silent auction, quilt raffle and a variety of hot and cold foods to satisfy your hunger including the community soup station featuring over 6 home made soups.

HandMade in America: Artisans Along Main Street in Valatie, Oct 6

Saturday, October 6, is the 8th Annual Artisan Fair in and along Main Street in Valatie.

Grab the opportunity to stock up for your holiday pantry and gifting—and don’t forget yourself!

Stay in the village for lunch at one of our diners or cafés along Main Street and Route 9.
Snap some pictures of our fabulous waterfalls, and shop at the eclectic mix of stores in our charming and historic village.

Kid Kurt Blues Band will perform live music on Main Street, and dozens of local and regional artisans will display and sell their works at the festival, featuring hot and cold foods and artisanal beverages; ceramics, botanical and handmade soaps, fabric and textile objects, silver and hand-crafted jewelry, exquisite handmade objéts, and other distinctive goods.

Maps will be available in most Main Street businesses and with the artisans.  Restroom facilities will be available. Free and open to the public.

OK Fall Festival in Kinderhook Village, Oct 6

Kinderhook Village is hosting a Fall Festival with Farmers Market, Hay Rides, Pumpkin painting, Ghost Making, Bake Off & Live Music.

Pumpkin painting and ghost making supplies are provided or bring your own.

Do you have a winning pumpkin or apple recipe? Pies, tarts, Turnovers, Crisps, Cookies Cakes, etc. Bring your already baked entry to the judging table on the Village Square by Noon on 10/6. Please label each recipe including your contact info. Winners will be chosen at 12:15pm. 1st Prize= $50 GC, 2nd Prize = $25 GC, 3rd Prize= $15 GC (Prizes from Samascotts).

For 24 years, Hawthorne Valley has offered the Fall Festival as a free public event to thank donors, customers, volunteers, community members, and local vendors for their support and partnership. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to get to know Hawthorne Valley’s diverse initiatives and experience the beauty of autumn in Columbia County. Over the years, the Festival has grown into a seasonal favorite with over 3,000 people attending from the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond.
