Free Screening of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ at Mahaiwe, Dec 22

Frank Capra’s 1946 holiday drama It’s a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, is a seasonal favorite. In Mahaiwe tradition, this will be a FREE screening for the community. Designated the most inspirational movie of all time by the American Film Institute, It’s a Wonderful Life is a wonderful, feel-good movie to experience with friends and family.

Arlo Guthrie @ The Guthrie Center


Arlo Guthrie is performing tonight and tomorrow night at The Guthrie Center at the Old Trinity Church in Great Barrington, MA.

Guthrie’s performances are part of the Semi-Annual Spring Church Revival, which is raising funds to help support the upcoming Summer season at The Church. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit Kashi Ashram in preparation for the celebration of Ma’s Mahasamadhi/Birthday.

The performances are billed as Guthrie solos, however, Guthrie’s friends have been known to join him at past events.

Tickets are $65 for members, and $80 for non-members. Seating is very limited and reservations are required. Call for reservations – 413-528-1955 There’s only one phone so please be patient but persistent if you’d like to be assured admission.

The 99% in Great Barrington This Friday

This Friday, April 13, there will be a 99% Action Training meeting in Great Barrington, MA. This is part of a nationwide movement to teach people how to reclaiming our country through sustained non-violent action.

Here is some info on the meeting from the organizers:

“We’re coming together to learn how we can use nonviolent direct action—in the footsteps of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.—to win change. We’ll be building our skills in order to join an unprecedented series of actions planned nationwide to confront corporate power holders, end tax giveaways to the 1%, fight the influence of money in politics, and more.”
