Ghent Playhouse: Cabaret

It’s been a cold and snowy March, but The Ghent Playhouse is about to heat things up with Cabaret!

Set amid the backdrop of 1930’s Germany as it begins to slide toward the Nazis, an American writer living in Berlin, meets an eccentric dancer at a decadent and vulgar cabaret called The Kit Kat Club, who changes his life forever. Tony Award-winner for Best Play in 1967 and again in 1998 for its revival.

A mother always knows when something is wrong, and this mother is determined to dig deep for the truth, when her husband returns home, a bit on edge, from a tennis match with his son. Hell-bent on getting to the bottom of things – Determined to get to the bottom of things, she invites her son and daughter-in-law for drinks and dessert, causing uproarious chaos. A shattering and hilarious play about long-term love and marriage… for better… and for worse!

Art OMI Exhibit Opening – OnSite: Yolande Daniels

OMI International Arts Center continues it’s OnSite series from Art Omi: Architecture with Yolande Daniels.

The exhibition will feature a steel panel from a 2010 installation of an outdoor pavilion of folded waterjet cut sheet steel and cast concrete hemisphere seating for the Evergreen Museum at Johns Hopkins University. The project responds to the decorative exuberance of a demolished tearoom on the grounds of the former mansion and references tea fantasies from the tranquility of the Japanese tea ceremony to the psychedelia of Alice in Wonderland’s tea party.

Ghent Playhouse: The Little Mermaid – Beyond the Sea

The Little Mermaid is coming to The Ghent Playhouse.

It’s time again for the Annual Holiday Panto and this year the Loons will be serving surf and turf with their zany twist on the popular fairytale, The Little Mermaid. Come join them for a rollicking good time “under the sea” and beyond!
