Celebrate National Trails Day With Columbia Land Conservancy, Jun 1

Choose your own adventure to celebrate National Trails Day! The Columbia Land Conservancy is teaming up with local experts and partners to offer something for everyone at our newest Public Conservation Area.

Choose your own adventure to celebrate National Trails Day! The Columbia Land Conservancy is teaming up with local experts and partners to offer something for everyone at their newest Public Conservation Area.

Join CLC from 8:30am – 10:30am for yoga with Supersoul Yoga or a volunteer opportunity, where you’ll learn about trail improvements and put your new skills to work improving the site for everyone. At 10:30, there will be a wide selection of ways to experience Overmountain Conservation Area, including:

A guided nature walk with Jane Meigs, Ancram Conservation Advisory Council member
A kid-friendly hike with Jill Jakimetz from Hike It Baby
Bring your pooch and learn how to be a good dog on the trails with local trainer Peg Munves.
Get up close and personal with Sharon Audubon and their Birds of Prey, including our mascot – the Kestrel! Starting at 11:30.
Asia Luna will have magic bubbles to test out or buy your own bubble wand kit! They will also have other fun products to help you enjoy Trails Day!
Grab a bite to eat from local food truck, Moon Dog’s (bring funds to purchase) or bring a picnic lunch!
FREE ice cream from Stewarts will be provided as well!

Registration is required, so that CLC can order enough food, and make sure to not overbook any of the hikes. Well-behaved, leashed dogs that are dog- and people-friendly are welcome on the dog hike.

When you register, select if you’ll be attending yoga or the volunteer activity, and select the hike you plan to take from the drop-down menu.

Chatham Berry Farm Spring Festival, May 5

The Chatham Berry Farm is having a Spring Festival this Sunday.

The Chatham Berry Farm is having a Spring Festival this Sunday. The farm store will be open with fresh and delicious foods, and the garden center will be bursting with Spring blooms. Additionally, the lawn will be filled with local vendors selling their unique wares.

The Greenhouse Cidery, which is now open for the season, will be open during the festival from 1pm-5pm.

Volunteer for Earth Day at Schor Conservation Area

Celebrate Earth Day with the Columbia Land Conservancy, and their volunteer day at Schor Conservation Area in East Chatham on April 20th.

You can help by removing invasive species like honeysuckle and garlic mustard, help improve trails, culverts, and collect trash and debris at the site. Coffee and snacks will be provided at the pavilion.

The Music In The Stacks concert series reflects a wide range of musical styles, genres, instruments and cultures. Audience members receive cultural passports, which will be stamped at each concert. The next performance is the modern and traditional Bangladeshi musical group, Moyna

Moyna is a musical duo from Seattle, which is made up of Palbasha and Durjoy Siddique. Both musicians originate from Bangladesh. They sing both in their native language of Bangla, and also create music sung in English.

A short q&a and refreshments will be available after the concert.
