The Crandell Theatre was added to the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places, and is holding a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony this Saturday to celebrate. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony is the free premiere showing of Crandell Theatre: The Jewel of Main Street, a 28-minute documentary produced by the Chatham Film Club, directed by filmmaker Marisella La Grave, and narrated by actor Robert Ian Mackenzie.

In the wake of the sexual revolution and the rise of the women’s movement, the 1973 tennismatch between women’s World #1 Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and ex-men’s-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell) was billed as the BATTLE OF THE SEXES and became one of the most watched televised sports events of all time, reaching 90 million viewers around the world.
