Columbia Land Conservancy Monthly Gathering – January Nature Night: Moths, Jan 9

January’s theme is Moths of Columbia County with Dylan Cipkowski of the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program

The Columbia Land Conservancy is presenting monthly gatherings in their office to learn about different topics and the fascinating work members of our community are doing to protect and engage with the land.

January’s theme is Moths of Columbia County with Dylan Cipkowski of the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program: A night delving into the mystery of moths! Focusing on the many moths we have right here in Columbia County, Dylan will discuss the importance of moths and the research being conducted by the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program. He’ll share ways for all of us to live and operate as land stewards with a more moth-minded approach.

Refreshments will be served.

The Columbia Land Conservancy invites you to Opt Outside on Black Friday, this week (Friday, November 29) from 10am – 12pm at High Falls Conservation Area.

“Feeling full after Thanksgiving? Not sure what to do with your houseguests? Opt outside with CLC! We’ll take a leisurely stroll to the overlook at High Falls while we learn about the history of the site and what makes it special.”

Howl-O-Ween! at Ooms, Oct 30

The Columbia Land Conservancy is hosting a Halloween party for people and their pups on October 30.

The Columbia Land Conservancy is hosting a Halloween party for people and their pups on October 30. Put your pooch in their best attire and head over to Ooms for an evening of fun.  The CLC will have treats, a doggy photo booth, and a costume contest. Winner gets a goody bag of dog-related treats from the CLC store. Drop in at any time.

The Columbia Land Conservancy invites you to fall for fall on a guided walk at Borden’s Pond Conservation Area this Saturday.

The Columbia Land Conservancy invites you to fall for fall on a guided walk at Borden’s Pond Conservation Area this Saturday. CLC educators will be on hand to teach you more about how to identify local trees. There will be a follow-up trip to Borden’s in January and compare the fall trees with their winter counterparts.
