The Vertical Challenge is a series of free, casual ski and snowboard races held at the best ski resorts throughout the Northeast each winter season. In addition to the races, attendees enjoy a festival atmosphere, featuring fun snowy activities for all ages and special giveaways.

The crew makes it a priority to create an environment where EVERY participant and family member is welcomed, accepted, and supported.

About the Band:

Ever since legendary guitarist Ronnie Earl chose Dave Keller to sing on his 2010 album, Living In The Light, Keller has been on the rise, earning three Blues Music Award nominations for Best Soul/Blues Album, winning the International Blues Challenge ‘Best Self-Released CD Award’, and being chosen for Downbeat’s “Best Recordings of the Year.” His 2018 CD, Every Soul’s a Star, released on esteemed soul/blues label Catfood Records, was produced by multiple-Grammy-winning legend Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Miller, Tower of Power, Luther Allison, etc.). Gaines, the man responsible for some of the most revered albums in modern music, says, “I love Dave’s vocals. Dave has a remarkable voice.”

Guided Nature Hikes at Catamount

Catamount is introducing Guided Nature Hikes. Explore Catamount beyond its trails by foot on a guided hike in the snow with an experienced naturalist.

Explore winter in the Berkshires at Catamount Mountain Resort! Reserve a guided tour for a tranquil walk through the snow. Learn about wildlife, trees, geology, and history of the mountain from an experienced naturalist.

There are two levels of hikes – a 90 minute adventure, and a 150 minute hike.

90 Minute Adventures are recommended for all ages. Never been snowshoeing or winter hiking? No problem! Learn how with the 90 minute adventure. You will walk along flat and steep terrain for over an hour. Depending on snow conditions, you will either use snowshoes, microspikes, or a good pair of boots to help you with traction along the way. Please call ahead for weather and snow conditions for the day you would like to reserve.

150 Minute Adventures are designed for those who are familiar with hiking in winter climates and are comfortable with steep terrain. The experience will cover over a mile of mountain trails. Breaks will be taken to enjoy the scenery and learn about nature, history, geology and more.

DATE/TIME: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays during Winter 2021 / 10am – 12:30pm
150 minute adventures depart at 10am. 90 minute adventures depart at 1pm.

Celebrate St. Catty’s Day at Catamount on Saturday, March 14th.

Celebrate St. Catty’s Day at Catamount on Saturday, March 14th. Gold coins will be hidden throughout the mountain, and guests get to search for them while they ski and hang out at Catamount. When a coin is found, the guest can turn them into the Main Office and they will get to pull a number out of the bag. Each prize will have a number attached to it. Prizes include T-shirts from local breweries, jeep bags, thermoses, hats, monthly membership to the Berkshire South community center, and more. The Grand Prize will be a 2020/2021 Berkshire SUMMIT Seasons Pass.

Rossignol Demo Day at Catamount, Feb 18

This Tuesday, February 18th, Catamount is hosting a Rossignol Demo Day.

Rossignol will be at Catamount for you to try out their latest equipment. Come out and go for a few laps with your favorites. Featuring 2020 and 2021 equipment. Try different skis and boards throughout the day.
