Sip & Stroll Event: Merlot & Migration

The Columbia Land Conservancy presents it’s first Sip and Stroll event of 2018 by celebrating World Migratory Bird Day.

The Columbia Land Conservancy presents it’s first Sip and Stroll event of 2018 by celebrating World Migratory Bird Day. World Migratory Bird Day, was created in 1993, by the Smithsonian and Cornell Lab of Ornithology and has historically been celebrated around the world on the 2 Saturday of May. However, since birds don’t just migrate on one day, and often migrations happen at different times in other parts of the world, groups are encouraged to educate people about migratory birds any time of year! The CLC will be celebratingWorld Migratory Bird Day in May, with a walk around the Greenport Conservation Area. The walk will include a discussion about grassland bird management, and will journey to the overlook to see if there are any migratory species along the river.
