Art Omi Artists Open Studios Returns, Jul 17

In June, Art Omi welcomed an international group of artists to its 2021 Art Omi: Artists Residency. At Open Studios, you’re invited to explore the work they have made while in residence when they open their workspaces to visitors on Saturday, July 17th.

Art Omi: Artists Open Studios provides an intimate glimpse into the work of international artists in residence at Art Omi. The residency gathers artists from a range of disciplines and techniques, from painters to sound artists to social practice and more. On July 17, take a trip around the art world without leaving the Studio Barns!

In partnership with Sustain Music and Nature, the Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) is hosting a Trail Session Hike & Concert on July 17th.

In partnership with Sustain Music and Nature, the Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) is hosting a Trail Session Hike & Concert on July 17th. Twisted Pine, an Americana funk band and NPR favorite, will perform on July 17 at Overmountain Conservation Area. Educational hike starts at 2:00 p.m., followed by the concert at 3:00 p.m.

Playing at Crandell, Jaws!

Crandell Theatre presents the 1975 classic, Jaws!

Crandell Theatre presents the 1975 classic, Jaws! This one-time showing will happen on Friday, July 2nd, just in time for Independence Day.

 When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.

The full July schedule, along with trailers, and reviews, can be found on the Crandell website. Tickets are available to be purchased either online or 15 minutes prior to the film’s start time at the box office.

The Hillsdale Flea Market is back! Saturday, July 3 from 8am to 3pm.

The Hillsdale Flea Market is back! Saturday, July 3 from 8am to 3pm. There will be local vendors, artisans and makers selling furniture, housewares, antiques, clothing, crafts, toys, bric-a-brac, and more.

Attendance is free to all shoppers during regular hours. “Early Bird” shoppers from 8 – 9am will pay $10 admittance. For info on vending at the flea market, write to hillsdalenyflea@gmail.com for an application.
