Local artist, Uli Rose, has a new exhibition of his photography opening this Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the North River Gallery in Chatham. The Exhibition is titled ‘Reminiscences of New York City in the Seventies’, and features a collection of Rose’s photographs taken in NYC in the 1970’s.
Rose said the following about the collection, “Coming from Europe I was fascinated of what was different and what was the same. These are my first impressions as a traveler to the “New World “, not knowing that later I would become a New Yorker and an American”.

The exhibition will run from November 5 to November 30. There is an Opening Reception on Saturday, November 5 from 4pm to 7pm.

Saturday: 11am – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 2pm

On the first Thursday of each month, Hawthorne Valley presents it’s Farmscape Ecology Program. A research and outreach program that fosters compassion for the ecological and cultural landscape of Columbia County, NY. This month features an Open House at the Creekhouse in Ghent. The open house evening includes a tour of the Creekhouse and native plant garden, informational session about Hawthorne’s program activities, the opportunity to browse the reading room, and enjoy a simple meal with others interested in the land and its human and non-human inhabitants. Guests are encouraged to bring a natural history question or observation to share. Anyone who feels inspired, is invited to bring a dish to share, however, it is not required.
