Art OMI Exhibit Opening – OnSite: Yolande Daniels

OMI International Arts Center continues it’s OnSite series from Art Omi: Architecture with Yolande Daniels.

The exhibition will feature a steel panel from a 2010 installation of an outdoor pavilion of folded waterjet cut sheet steel and cast concrete hemisphere seating for the Evergreen Museum at Johns Hopkins University. The project responds to the decorative exuberance of a demolished tearoom on the grounds of the former mansion and references tea fantasies from the tranquility of the Japanese tea ceremony to the psychedelia of Alice in Wonderland’s tea party.

Art Exhibit – En Masse 2017 at Thompson Giroux Gallery, Chatham

En Masse is back at Thompson Giroux Gallery. This is the fourth year for the by-invitation-only, salon-style show featuring over 50 artists and an incredible range of affordable work–sculpture, glass art, oil paintings, collages and much much more.

The show includes many of TGG’s longtime gallery artists as well as a handful of artists who have never shown there before. For even more variety, two new size categories were added this year.

En Masse has become a favorite show for collectors and art enthusiasts. This exhibition encourages artists to take risks and try new things–many have created brand-new work especially for this event—as well as unlock the vault on some never-seen artworks.

Pieces are available on a cash-and-carry basis beginning the day after the opening, and the show is constantly changing as new pieces are added from the back room.

West Stockbridge Chamber Players Winter Concert, Dec 28

The West Stockbridge Chamber Players will present their winter concert next Thursday. Soprano Margaret Felice, clarinetist Catherine Hudgins, cellist William Rounds, and pianist Sayuri Miyamoto will perform works by Mahler, Schubert and Zemlinsky.

There will be a reception following the concert next door to the church. The concert is a benefit for the West Stockbridge Historical Society.

West Stockbridge residents under 18 are free with a reservation.
