Art Omi is hosting an opening and public reception in the Benenson Center for three exhibitions with Art Omi: The Fields + Art Omi: Architecture. Betty Parsons: Blue Sky Very High is a series of paintings by Betty Parsons, which will be on view through January 6, 2019 in the gallery. Steven Holl’s One Two Five will be exhibited in Architecture Field 01, and OnSite: Lebbeus Woods’ work will be on view in the Kantor Lobby in the Benenson Center through January 6, 2019.

Betty Parsons: Blue Sky Very High is a series of paintings spanning over two decades of Betty Parsons’ career, which depict her ongoing investigation of landscape as explored through a range of approaches to abstraction. Also included in this exhibition are some of Parsons’ painted driftwood constructions.

Steven Holl worked with the dialectic of simultaneously presenting a subtractive form of sculpture and an additive form. In One Two Five, each piece is carved out of 21-million-year-old stone “pietra di Lecce” by the latest CNC technology and assembled to a two-part sculpture, where the individual elements form space either in composition or freestanding.

Lebbeus Woods’ has only a few full-sized constructed projects. Three Reconstructed Boxes is a sculptural work with sound and video components constructed with close collaborators and by Woods himself.
