Sip & Stroll: Orioles and Orchards will head to Sloop Brewing in Elizaville to stroll the orchard, sample some tasty brews, and talk about the birds that you might find this time of year on farms. Local refreshments and drinks provided.

The start of August means it’s time for the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Each summer Hillsdale hosts this three day music festival and camping experience.

The start of August means it’s time for the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Each summer Hillsdale hosts this three day music festival and camping experience. This year is the festival’s 30th year, and the fun starts on Friday, August 3rd, and goes to Sunday, the 5th. In addition to the music, the festival will also have vendors, food, crafts, and on-site camping.

Pre-Fest TASTINGS DAY and Farm Market on Thursday, August 2nd. Early Camping opens Wednesday afternoon, August 1st.

This ever-popular event features early 19th Century craft demonstrations and wares, antiques, live music and entertainment, magic act, activities for children, animals, birds of prey, sheep-shearing, plus many unique and highly talented craft vendors, artisans and a special fiber art area. There will be blueberries galore and a blueberry pancake breakfast, in addition to a wide selection of tasty food items and baked goods.

Hiking Steepletop: Expanded Tour of the Grounds at Edna St. Vincent Millay’s Home, Jul 22

This tour allows visitors an expanded view of the wonders of Edna St. Vincent Millay’s home, Steepletop.


This tour allows visitors an expanded view of the wonders of Edna St. Vincent Millay’s home, Steepletop. The tour will include a selection of Millay’s nature poetry, much of it inspired at Steepletop. The tour will be exploring areas of the property not included in the regular House or Grounds & Gardens tours. Be advised that this is a hike. Guests will be walking over uneven terrain, through the forest and the fields. Some of the property may be boggy, so please wear attire appropriate for hiking.

For those who wish to take a tour of Millay’s home afterwards, a 12:30pm tour will be offered for the price of $12.
