Happenings: Free Art Show at Chatham House

From now until March 8, 2008, The Chatham House is hosting a collection of local artists’ works. Paintings and photographs from artists including Jerry Freedner, Barbara Peduzzi and Jim Nelson can be viewed throughout Chatham House’s dining rooms, hallways, cocktail bar and the promenade.

Viewing the art is free so why not stop in for a look and stay for a drink or meal. While there, take note of the painstaking efforts that have restored this historic 1859 hotel.

Details:
The Chatham House is located at 29 Hudson Avenue in Chatham, NY.
The building is open everyday but Tuesday from 11am -9pm

Please Stand By

We moved into our new East Chatham house this past Saturday and luckily made it in just in time for all the snow. Unfortunately, I still don’t have Internet at the house so I’m falling behind with posts here on the blog. I hope to have everything up and running soon so please check back next week and be careful out there on the roads.

I Break For Tag Sales

Just found the following on Craig’s List:

Fireplace Surround – $150
Location: Valatie

“I bought this for the fireplace that never was. This is a 4′ x 4′ surround with electric logs (no heat) and a beautiful black iron screen. This is suitable for surrounding any kind of fireplace or stove. Compare all pieces to well over $500.”

It’s hard to get a good look at the fireplace surround with all that other stuff in the way but it looks like a great item.

We Closed!

Sorry for the slow week here on Columbia County Current but we had our closing yesterday and a lot of last minute details to handle on Tuesday. In any event, it is now official and the better half and I are the proud owners of 20% of a little house on two acres of land in Columbia County.
