This Saturday is Chatham OctoberFeast in the village of Chatham, NY. The annual fall harvest celebration features events and activities, local food, and talent.

Main Street will be closed to traffic and picnic tables will be set up. Enjoy all your favorite fall foods from local restaurants, as well as outside food vendors and food trucks. There will be two stages of entertainment and WDST will be doing a live broadcast. There will be plenty of kids activities including fall-themed crafts, pumpkin painting, and a giant slide by the gazebo. Bimi’s will have large games set up on the street in front of their store: Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4 and Cheese Toss.

Spencertown Academy Juried Regional Art Exhibition

Spencertown Academy Arts Center presents its fifth annual Regional Juried Art Show. On Sunday, October 7, there will be an opening reception, and the exhibit will remain on display through October 28.

Spencertown Academy Arts Center presents its fifth annual Regional Juried Art Show. On Sunday, October 7, there will be an opening reception, and the exhibit will remain on display through October 28.

This year’s theme is “Light and Shadow: the Artist’s Eye, Perceptions, and Choices” and the guest juror is Bruce Bergmann. Bergmann, received a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design and an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute. He went on to work with galleries in SoHo, Chelsea, and the Upper East Side, all while doing his own studio work. In 2003, he opened his own gallery, BCB ART on Warren Street in Hudson, New York. Bergmann has devoted himself to showing the work of international, national, and regional artists. He has extensive experience as a jurist in the Hudson Valley.

Kinderhook Village is hosting a Fall Festival with Farmers Market, Hay Rides, Pumpkin painting, Ghost Making, Bake Off & Live Music.

Pumpkin painting and ghost making supplies are provided or bring your own.

Do you have a winning pumpkin or apple recipe? Pies, tarts, Turnovers, Crisps, Cookies Cakes, etc. Bring your already baked entry to the judging table on the Village Square by Noon on 10/6. Please label each recipe including your contact info. Winners will be chosen at 12:15pm. 1st Prize= $50 GC, 2nd Prize = $25 GC, 3rd Prize= $15 GC (Prizes from Samascotts).

Hawthorne Valley‘s 24th Annual Fall Festival celebration is Sunday, October 7. For 24 years, Hawthorne Valley has offered the Fall Festival as a free public event to thank donors, customers, volunteers, community members, and local vendors for their support and partnership. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to get to know Hawthorne Valley’s diverse initiatives and experience the beauty of autumn in Columbia County. Over the years, the Festival has grown into a seasonal favorite with over 3,000 people attending from the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond.

Spend the day at the farm; hay rides, cider pressing, cow parade and more.

Open Day at Equine Advocates, Sep 29

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary farm’s next open day will be a part of the annual Chatham Farm Fest.

Spend a few hours walking around and meeting the rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules as well as the goats, Charlotte, Jakey and Cello.  Visitors will learn where the animals came from and why they needed to be rescued.  Feel free to picnic at the sanctuary’s pond.
