After decades of decline, the former industrial city of Hudson has emerged as a thriving tourist destination and haven for New Yorkers in search of second homes.
“In the last three to five years, there has been a steady increase,” said Mayor Tiffany Martin Hamilton. “We now have quite a bit of foot traffic on weekends.”
Set on the eastern banks of the Hudson River, Hudson is the county seat of Columbia County, with a population of about 6,700 and a total area of just over 2 square miles.
