This Saturday, the Hudson Area Library will host the opening reception for an exhibit titled, “People of the Civil Rights Era Seen in Photographs by Jim Peppler”. This exhibit features the photography of Peppler, during his time reporting for The Southern Courier, a non-profit Civil Rights newspaper serving Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia from 1965 -1968.
“Peppler will be speaking on his experiences photographing the protests and vigils of the Civil Rights Movement in the South; the everyday life of the people who were fighting for their fundamental rights; and the tragic, yet still inspiring, funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
There will be time for questions and a reception will follow.
