Join the new chapter on International Women’s Day at Olde York Farm Distillery and Cooperage for cocktails, tastings, delicious snacks and lots of swag for spirits lovers, provided by local women-owned producers.

On arrival, small samples our sponsors’ signature cocktails and food. Additional food and drinks for purchase throughout the night

Funky Mardi Gras with Shokazoba at Chatham Brewing, Mar 2

Chatham Brewing is throwing a Funky Mardi Gras party with Shokazoba this Saturday, (March 2, 2019).

Shokazoba is a nine piece horn driven funk powerhouse! They began in 2005 as a Fela Kuti tribute project and now produce original work aiming to inspire greater human awareness through conscious funky fusion jazz with progressive topical lyrics. Voted “Best of the Valley” five times, nominated as “Live Act of the Year” by the New England Music Awards, winners of the 2017 Valley Music Showcase, and recognized with several honorable distinctions by the African Jazz Review, Shokazoba performs top quality, high energy music designed to move your feet, inspire the mind, and activate our souls!

Our sixth annual fundraising bash starts off with karaoke hosted by Amanda Lees, followed by dancing to the music of Blueberry (www.blueberrylounge.com) straight into 2019. Then, DJ Var (WGXC’s “Friday Night Vibes Session”) takes control into the wee hours. Your $10-$20 (sliding scale) contribution at the door benefits WGXC 90.7-FM. Food will be available all night from the Taste of India food truck, with a portion of food sales also to benefit WGXC. The entire event will be broadcast live on 90.7-FM and wgxc.org.
