The Garden Conservancy invites you to visit the private garden of
Linda B. Horn, in Spencertown on Saturday, September 14.

“The restoration of my landscape has been the goal for the fifteen years of living here after a move from Chicago. There are four restored ecosystems: wetlands, waterfall, domestic area of native grasses, and woodland. The last section of restoration was started last fall with eliminating dead trees and then new seeding. This year goldenrod was weed-wacked and new trees planted. The landscape was featured in the September 2017 issue of New York Cottages & Gardens with a five-page spread (images are available). Native restoration workshops have been held here through the Columbia Land Conservancy, Spencertown Academy, and Berkshire Botanical Garden”.

GARDEN EXTRA: Linda will be exhibiting a collection of her own prints of native insects, which includes nearly 80 prints created over a 20 year period.

The Caravan Express is a retreat for women that runs this weekend at the Fresh Idea Farm in Red Rock, NY. The retreats goal is “uncovering your essence, experience its power, and take action.”

The retreat, conducted in a bucolic garden setting, will include Meditation, yoga, the labyrinth, writing & vision mapping.

From the hosts:

Why a Caravan you might be asking?

Because we want to present you with a rare opportunity to travel with a group of like-minded seekers to unknown and unexpected places that already reside right within you.

Our intention is to give you the time and space to dig deep and share with all of us what you already possess – sometimes known but often hidden.

And how will we do this?

By taking you through processes that have the potential to lead to dynamic transformations in the areas you personally wish to explore.

This weekend is designed to build from the essentials, in realms of yoga, meditation, and contemplation, to labyrinth walking on Day One, with the purpose of bridging internal and external spheres.

Our Caravan Mart is a unique vehicle that will allow us to reveal the gifts we already recognize and are ready to share with one another.

How you expand your new insights and begin to take action will happen on Day Two with a dynamic vision mapping session and the inaugural “Express Yourself ” workshop.

It is our hope that fellow Caravaners will depart with their magnificent presence

enlightened and emboldened and that they will also know they always have a sacred touchstone to return to – The Caravan Express.
