Open Day at Equine Advocates, Aug 18

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary farm opens it’s gates to visitors throughout the summer. Visitors to the farm will have the opportunity to meet the rescued animals, and learn about where they came from and why they needed to be rescued.

Spend a few hours walking around and meeting the rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules as well as the goats, Charlotte, Jakey and Cello. Visitors will learn where the animals came from and why they needed to be rescued. Feel free to picnic at the sanctuary’s pond.

Sip & Stroll: Orioles and Orchards will head to Sloop Brewing in Elizaville to stroll the orchard, sample some tasty brews, and talk about the birds that you might find this time of year on farms. Columbia County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting a family fishing event on Wednesday, August 15th in Stuyvesant.

Columbia County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting a family fishing event on Wednesday, August 15th in Stuyvesant. Participants will learn how to fish and what kinds of fish live in the Hudson River. The CCSWCD runs a fully stocked fishing program, and will have a fish display tank where you can observe some of the Hudson’s finned residents.
