Window On Hudson is thrilled to present its final artist of 2020, Mimi Czajka Graminski.

Window On Hudson is thrilled to present its final artist of 2020, Mimi Czajka Graminski. Czajka Graminski has created Post Photosynthesis a site specific, multimedia installation. The exhibit includes sculpture, drawing, painting, and video which is on view in the storefront windows of Window On Hudson as well as inside the art space.

Screen Shot 2020-12-08 at 5.23.34 PMCzajka Graminski explains Post Photosynthesis in the following way, “I love making art, working with my hands, and creating something where there was nothing before. Inspiration most often comes from materials both made and found. The majority of materials in this exhibition are inspired by and derived from plant-based sources. All of which stem from the
process of photosynthesis – creating energy, nourishment and growth from light.

In my work I am using materials that were all born from this process – logs from trees, leaves from plants, and paper made from cotton. After their growth process and harvest, the materials find renewed life in their cross pollination incorporated into this site-specific installation.”

Window On Hudson offers storefront window exhibition space for artists of Hudson and the Hudson Valley. Window On Hudson is committed to providing a platform for established and developing artists to display their work, of all mediums, while also offering professional development opportunities for emerging artists. Window On Hudson will exhibit a new artist on a monthly basis.

Window On Hudson is two large storefront windows located at 43 South Third Street, in Hudson, NY. The windows are prominently visible 24/7 to all citizens and visitors of the City of Hudson traveling south on NY-9G. To see more of the artist’s work which hangs inside, please make an appointment with the Artistic Director, jeremy@windowonhudson.org

Hudson Winter Walk 2020: 20 Days of Festive Cheer

For the past 23 years, Hudson Hall has produced Winter Walk an annual Hudson celebration that brings upwards of 20,000 people to town.

Winter Walk is an annual Hudson celebration that in normal years brings upwards of 20,000 people to town. For the past 23 years, Hudson Hall has produced Winter Walk, and what began as a one-block party grew into Hudson’s most colorful event of the year and an important evening of trade for many local shops and restaurants.  In 2020, we need Winter Walk more than ever. Our local businesses need support, and we know our community needs extra cheer and joy.

Instead of closing off Warren Street for a large celebration involving tens of thousands people on a single evening, Winter Walk 2020 begins on Saturday, December 5 and continues through the month of December.

Find yourself a suitable holiday mask and get ready to enjoy the warmth and excitement of the holidays in Hudson, while staying safe and distanced, during Winter Walk 2020: The Hudson Safe Edition.

Hudson Hall is hosting ‘Art & Soul’, a group show & intentional listening installation curated by Reggie Madison.

By Reggie Madison

Hudson Hall is hosting ‘Art & Soul’, a group show & intentional listening installation curated by Reggie Madison.

For artist and curator Reginald Madison, music and the creative process are inextricably connected. “Music always inspires me,” he says. “I would be totally lost without it.” In this special Hudson Jazz Festival group exhibition, Madison has invited his friends and neighbors to contribute their own visual solos. Each piece chosen is a riff on their own body of work, which together sing a song of an artistic community inextricably connected in a time of global anxiety and collective isolation.

Hudson Hall’s first floor galleries are alive and filled with new artwork and sculptures, including works from curator Reggie Madison,  David Hammons, Bijan Mahmoodi, Marlene Marshall, Kris Perry, Richard Sandler, Tschabalala Self, and Kianja Strobert.
